Christian Claim
You must understand that everything Jesus taught was in direct conflict and opposition to what the Religious Elders taught – which was why the Priests hated and crucified Jesus – since Jesus was robbing them of their exalted positions as “personal henchmen” of the “Almighty.”
Jesus Taught Against the Tanach
Yes, exactly! You are correct. Jesus did teach against the Jews – that is, he taught against the Torah. He taught against God’s word!
Jesus taught that one can only be forgiven by believing in him. That is still what the church teaches. Judaism ALWAYS said that NO intercessor is needed to be heard by God. However Christianity does teach that one can only approach their god through Jesus.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:6 – NKJV)
But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. (Romans 3:21-26 – NKJV)
The Romans Crucified Jesus
You are wrong in accusing the Jews of crucifying Jesus. It was the ROMANS who crucified Jesus for the crime of sedition. The Jewish Sanhedrin had no power over execution during the first-century. These are just lies perpetrated by the hate-filled, anti-Semitic “New Testament” and the church.
Now Jesus stood before the governor. And the governor asked Him, saying, “Are You the King of the Jews?” Jesus said to him, “It is as you say.” (Matthew 27:11 – NKJV)
Then Pilate asked Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?” He answered and said to him, “It is as you say.” (Mark 15:2 – NKJV)
Then Pilate asked Him, saying, “Are You the King of the Jews?” He answered him and said, “It is as you say.” (Luke 23:3 – NKJV)
Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?” Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.” (John 18:37 – NKJV)
It is very clear that Pilate and the Romans were persecuting Jesus for the crime of sedition – for the crime of declaring himself a king.
During crucifixion, the Romans would affix a plaque with the name and crime to the wood.
And they put up over His head the accusation written against Him: THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS. (Matthew 27:37 – NKJV)
And the inscription of His accusation was written above: THE KING OF THE JEWS. (Mark 25:26 – NKJV)
And an inscription also was written over Him in letters of Greek, Latin, and Hebrew: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS. (Luke 23:38 – NKJV)
Now Pilate wrote a title and put it on the cross. And the writing was: JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS. (John 19:19 – NKJV)
Remember that the priests were acting in accordance with God’s word. God put them in place to be teachers and guides for the Jews. They were not perfect because they were human but that doesn’t mean that they are “false teachers” or anything of the kind.
Jesus taught in direct opposition to God’s word. That is one of a multitude of reasons that he is rightfully rejected by Jews and Righteous Non-Jews.
